One of our own software initiatives Fidelta, is a customer loyalty program meant to be interconnected across small businesses, this means that if you earn 20 points in store ‘X’ you would be able to spend them on store ‘Z’, ultimately providing more value to the customer and incentivizing him/her to return and buy more, more often. Over time, these return visits result in increased sales and brand loyalty.
The problem with most of the current loyalty program is that they are exclusive to each business, so even if they sound good at first, they don’t offer real value to the customer. On the other hand, if we take advantage of a growing network of businesses, we are essentially putting money back in the costumer's pockets.
The first step was to help end users to comprehend why they should join the program and how the system works, from the rewards earned to how their information will be managed. That last part was a challenge due to the nature of the project and the fact that is an interconnected network of businesses and stores.
Fidelta has a lot of features and tools developed for the end users to earn points, all of them were created with the purpose of boost business growth, and increase capital flow as well as loyal customers.
The website is developed in a relational database environment using EF as a main structure combined with MVC architecture. The server was created using SQL Server as our main processor and LINQ as our query interpreter to make the coding a lot faster and cleaner.

The biggest challenge was to make sure the end user knew where all the rewards were going to be earned and why is that an advantage for them. Given the nature of the project and the fact, that was a giant connected system of businesses and stores made the user feel insecure about his information and that represented a challenge for Fidelta.
After the arrival of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency to the mass public, we realized that we could take advantage of this technologies to further improve our product, so we went back to the drawing board and are striving to be the first crypto-based loyalty system.
