Our Name

Why We Are
Called Xipe.

Xipe takes its name from an ancient Mesoamerican deity whose origins predate the Aztec civilization itself. This is the story of that name, and why it still matters today.

The Origin

A god older than
the Aztecs.

Xipe Tótec was a god of agriculture, warfare, renewal, and transformation. Long before the Mexica adopted him into their pantheon, Xipe was already worshipped by earlier cultures across what is now Mexico.

His most distinctive myth tells of a voluntary sacrifice: he removed his own skin to nourish the world and allow new life to emerge. To modern eyes, the imagery is unsettling. To ancient peoples, it represented one of nature's deepest truths: nothing new can grow until something old is left behind.

Xipe was not merely a god of harvests. He embodied the cycle of change itself. The seed must shed its shell before it can grow. The old season must end before the new one can begin. Renewal is not separate from disruption — it emerges from it.

Why We Chose It

Technology shares
that same nature.

Technology is often described as innovation, but innovation is only half the story. Every meaningful technological advance challenges existing ways of thinking, working, and creating. New systems replace old ones. Assumptions are questioned. Organizations evolve. Entire industries reinvent themselves.

Technology cultivates growth, but it also demands adaptation. It creates new opportunities while transforming established realities. Like the ancient deity whose name we bear, it is a force of renewal through change.

We chose the name Xipe because we believe in that same cycle. We don't build software to maintain the status quo. We build it to help organizations evolve, modernize, and prepare for what comes next.

Progress is not the absence of disruption.

Progress is transformation.
